Hello! I am Erin Mae, a fashion student currently on my placement year, documenting my time through the industry, interning. I hope to share with you what I have learnt about the industry so far as well as the projects I have been working on as a young designer.

Erin Mae Store

Over my placement year, I have set up a small business, creating knitted accessories for women and children, focusing on using sustainable and ethical materials and processes, to tackle the negative impacts the fashion industry has on the environment.

I am learning more about the issues the industry faces through my time interning, and how to combat these by choosing sustainable materials, natural materials and waste/deadstock materials and learning more about traceability and the stages a material or garment has gone through, where they’ve come from and who has made them.

As I learn more about sustainability, what it means to be sustainable and how to make positive changes towards this, I will share these with you, and we can take steps together to make the fashion industry and world a more eco-friendly place.

Take a look at my small sustainable business here.
